Best in Blogs May 16-22 #amwriting #amreading

These are the blogs that "spoke" to me this week. Got a good one that made you think or jump for joy? Share in the comments!

YA Outside the Lines
YA authors talk about ... what's important to them right now. This one is certainly thought provoking.
"I have a problem. I keep banging my head on the ceiling.

Not the actual ceiling. That would be weird, like a problem with gravity, or maybe a caved-in roof. No, I keep banging my head on the invisible ceiling above me."

Write Club
Run by D.L. Hammons, great way to push your writing and help out others
"What is WRiTE CLUB?  It started off as a modest writing competition, inspiration loosely derived from the movie FIGHT CLUB, and it has since grown into a writing community sensation that is now sponsored by the DFWWriters Conference. There are numerous versions of this concept floating around the internet, but nothing like we do it here.  Its essence embodies simple, good-natured competition, with lots and lots of fun sprinkled on top. "

Adventures in YA Writing
A great piece of advice for us all!
"I was about 15 when I got in trouble with my school and my parents. My school didn’t appreciate the writing I turned in for a class assignment. They called my parents, who freaked out and demanded that I explain myself."

Michelle4Laughs
Author blog - a great post on filtering with examples!
"Filtering is exactly what its name implies. It is running an observation through your point of view character instead of giving it straight to the reader. It’s pretty easy to spot but can be harder to remove. "
