About the book ~
A devastating Twitter prank yanks Hannah out of the popular crowd and turns her into the high school’s best bad joke. Determined to finish the year and graduate, Hannah must keep the humiliating details from her impulsive mother—who just might pack up their belongings and move. Again.

Hannah hovers below the radar by submersing herself in a new routine. Post-it notes, Dewey Decimal numbers and carefully planned trips to the library are her refuge. That is, until a persistent new student invades her space. Lucas has complete disregard for Hannah’s cynicism and snark, and he seems to know the bullies who targeted her. Can Hannah trust him, or is he part of another ploy to torment her?
~ My Review ~
Hannah Both Ways by Rosie Greenway is a cute contemporary romance with unique and well-thought-out characters. The main character, Hannah, isn’t really likeable at first. But boy, it’s easy to see our own high-school selves and exactly where we might not have been likeable either. Hannah doesn’t even want to be liked, she’d rather be left alone. She has a hard time forming social bonds since her mom’s life isn’t exactly the minivan driving soccer mom. And whenever life got complicated, she yanked Hannah away to a new school.

But Hannah has found interesting ways to cope. She  hangs out in the school library and reads a random book every day and gets good grades. Until her life is tossed by a cute new guy who doesn’t know how to take no for an answer.

Lucas has his own baggage along with a learning disability. They just might be a perfect match – and exactly what the “mean girls and guys” at their school need to shake things up a bit.

The book was generally well written. There was a lot of back story that took a while to drag out at the beginning. But that did allow the reader to see Hannah’s quirky side and appreciate her good points. I definitely rooted for Hannah and Lucas to get together and for the mean kids to learn a few truths about their assumptions.

Worth reading – 4 stars.
